Space Farmers is an indie game by BumpkinBrothers that is built to test your co-op strengths and weaknesses. Trapped on an alien space station, you and a friend must solve a variety of unique puzzles involving pigs, pie-loving dinosaurs, shotguns and numerous other baddies, friendlies, obstacles, gadgets and weaponry. Updates are said to continue and any new maps or other content will be free content updates, with no plans for paid DLC. It currently supports online (peer-to-peer), local LAN and split-screen co-op play, with no single player - nothing has been said either way about adding support for a 3rd/4th player. Basic overview

Graphically, Space Farmers doesn't impress. It looks good enough to enjoy yourself and not worry about inaccuracies or lack of detail, but for the type of game it is, the stylised cartoony look of the visuals is very fitting (it's a rather similar style to some of the Simpsons games). As for configuration, don't get your hopes up - there are no graphics settings, or even audio for that matter. Annoyingly, on starting the game you will be confronted with rather loud background music that can't be turned down - my only way to combat this was using the volume mixer feature in Windows 7. The audio in the game is not annoying in itself once the volume issue is sorted and has a very apt inclusion of banjos, which makes all puzzle games better! It's neither a trick nor treat on the eyes and ears, but frankly I don't think it needs much more attention in either area, as this game is all about the gameplay. Sound & Visual

Your typical WASD movement with mouse-based aiming is used for this game - I don't really use controllers, certainly not for games that require aiming, but according to the Steam store page this game has partial controller support (whatever that's supposed to mean!). As previously mentioned, Space Farmers is a game of puzzles - with 20+ pre-built levels, you're tasked with completing 5 in a row with your companion. Different levels will of course require different skills and levels of co-operation - with this comes different gear requirements. At the beginning of each level (and sometimes at other stages throughout that level) you will have one or more gadget dispensers. You must decide who uses what and start working together on completing the level, collecting turnips as you go along (dropped by various enemies). Control and gameplay

Turnips are your currency in Space Farmers - it's only logical! After collecting turnips from killing various baddies around the levels, you can use them as money to buy character customisations or health boosts. As you go around the levels, you may notice a small panel on a wall with a health (plus) icon, you can use this to restore 10% of your health for 10 turnips. You can also get some amusing customisations in the form of new characters (country bumpkin, space man, ninja, superman, etc) or hats! There are no special effects or anything, but it does mean that you can run through the game as a ninja wearing a fez, or a space man wearing a traffic cone. Turnips!

At the time of writing, I've not completed all of the levels and this game currently has very good replay-ability, even when it comes to levels I've already done. This may well change once all levels are done, however, and every set of 5 levels is full of ones I've already done, but while at least 1 of them is new at the moment I'm not really having any issues. Variety is fairly high on a number of accounts, including; map layouts, enemies, character customisation, weapons/gadgets and obstacles. Replay-ability/Variety

I simply cannot describe the cacophony of noises I've made whilst playing this game. Working with a friend on the puzzles makes this game so entertaining, especially when you're not working well together at all and you've just blown up your partner with a potato grenade. Dodging lasers, feeding dinosaurs pies, flying around space shooting killer robots, activating switches with square pigs and numerous other simply quite crazy parts of this game, really add a good dose of fun to a (sometimes rather challenging) puzzle game. Fun factor

Conclusion

Overall Space Farmers is a great little game for having fun with a friend. It's really nice to play a co-op game that really requires good teamwork in order to succeed - Portal 2 is thus far the only other game that I can think of which really focused on requiring true integrity of a 2 person team in order to achieve your goal(s). The graphics and audio are good enough, there's a good variety of maps, enemies and gadgets, and thus far I'm not even slightly bored of it. This is of course subject to change, but having already got 2 hours out of a game I paid £3.49 for, I'd say that this game is well worth a try and is good value for money, even if bought at full price. Conclusion

Space Farmers is bright and colorful and really adds a cheery touch to everything, even your demise due to an ill-timed potato grenade detonation

Hey there! I realize this is kind of off-topic but I needed to ask. Does managing a well-established blog such as yours take a massive amount work? I am completely new to running a blog but I do write in my diary on a daily basis. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my experience and views online. Please let me know if you have any kind of recommendations or tips for brand new aspiring bloggers.
    Thankyou!
